Walk-in bone and joint services meet patients’ unscheduled needs

(ALBANY, NY) – OrthoNY begins its fourth year in the urgent care business this month. The bone and joint practice introduced walk-in orthopaedic care in 2013, offering evening and Saturday hours. One year later, a designated urgent care suite, staffed by a full-time physician assistant, opened at 121 Everett Road to see patients Monday through Friday, 1 p.m. until 8 p.m., with no appointment necessary. Please note – the last patient check-in is 15 minutes prior to the posted closing.

OrthoNY Urgent Care is efficient and cost-effective, eliminating the need for emergency room visits to treat common injuries. When acute care needs are bone and joint specific, OrthoNY is an optimal choice for sprains, strains, minor fractures and sports injuries. Urgent care is provided by orthopaedic specialists and supported by onsite radiology services.

“We recognized that many bone and joint issues are sudden and unexpected,” said Alan Okun, CEO of OrthoNY. “Since introducing OrthoNY Urgent Care in April 2013, we now see an average of 30 patients each weekday in Albany, and 22 on Saturday mornings between Albany and Malta.”

“We are happy to offer walk-in patients the services needed to treat injuries as quickly as possible, getting them back to work, school and life. It’s one of the ways we can keep Saving Lifestyles.”

OrthoNY Urgent Care is available at 121 Everett Road in Albany, Monday-Friday, 1 p.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday morning walk-in hours are also available in the Malta Medical Arts Building at 2388 Route 9, just south of Route 67, off Exit 12 of the Northway.
