Trusted Orthopedic Imaging in Saratoga

Located at 612 Maple Avenue within the Saratoga Regional Health Center, the OrthoNY Saratoga MRI center is dedicated to advanced diagnostic imaging for orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions. The office offers MRI on a GE SIGNA Voyager, a 1.5T wide bore scanner designed with patient comfort in mind — its 70 cm opening gives patients noticeably more headroom and shoulder space than a traditional MRI machine, a refreshing change for anyone who may dislike tighter spaces.

Each study is interpreted by a radiologist with specialized musculoskeletal training, ensuring findings are read with orthopedic treatment planning in mind rather than general diagnostic use.

MRI is ideal for identifying soft tissue issues such as ligament tears, tendon inflammation, and disc herniation, but your provider will determine which exam is appropriate based on your referral and symptoms.

Patients from Saratoga Springs, Wilton, Malta, Ballston Spa, Schuylerville, Glens Falls, Queensbury, South Glens Falls, and surrounding communities are seen at this location, with scheduling designed to accommodate both routine and time-sensitive referrals. Imaging reports are typically completed within 1 to 2 business days and sent directly to the ordering provider.

By keeping imaging within the OrthoNY network, patients benefit from coordinated communication between radiology, surgery, and rehabilitation teams — a dependable resource for orthopedic imaging in the Saratoga Springs area.

Making an Appointment for Professional Orthopedic Imaging

From the moment you arrive, our team is focused on your comfort and care. Here’s what your experience may include:

1

Referral for Imaging

Your OrthoNY provider reviews your symptoms and exam findings to determine whether MRI, X-ray, or both are ideal for evaluating your condition. This step ensures the exam you receive is the right one for an accurate diagnosis, rather than a one-size-fits-all scan.

2

Appointment Scheduling

Appointments are scheduled by phone, with availability for both routine and urgent referrals. Our scheduling team works to find a time that fits your needs, whether you’re planning ahead or need to be seen quickly.

3

Your Imaging Appointment

Technologists guide you through the process from check-in to completion, minimizing wait times and explaining each step of the exam so you know what to expect. The scanner’s noise-reduction technology keeps the exam quieter than a traditional machine, and the table sits at a low, easy-access height with support for patients up to 550 lbs.

4

Radiologist Interpretation

A radiologist with musculoskeletal training reviews your images with precision, examining bone, joint, and soft tissue detail relevant to your specific condition. A detailed report is then sent directly to your referring provider so no time is lost in getting your results where they need to go.

5

Review of Results

Your provider discusses the findings with you in clear, understandable terms and updates your treatment plan as needed. Depending on the results, this may mean starting physical therapy, adjusting medication, considering an injection, or moving forward with a referral for surgery.

Frequently Asked Questions

What imaging services does OrthoNY offer in Saratoga?

OrthoNY has multiple x-ray machines and an on-site MRI for orthopedic evaluation, covering areas such as the spine, shoulder, knee, hip, and ankle. All studies are interpreted by radiologists with musculoskeletal training.

Is the MRI Center located in the same building as the OrthoNY office?

Yes. The OrthoNY MRI Center is conveniently located in the same building as the OrthoNY office, just down the hall. For the easiest access, we recommend parking on the north side of the building and using the north entrance.

Do I need a referral to schedule imaging at this location?

Yes. Imaging is ordered by your treating provider based on your symptoms and exam findings. If you’re an existing OrthoNY patient, your provider can place the referral directly during your visit.

How do I prepare for an MRI appointment?

Wear loose, metal-free clothing and leave jewelry at home. Arrive about 15 minutes early for check-in, and let staff know about any implants, pacemakers, or prior surgeries. No fasting is required unless your provider specifically instructs otherwise.

What should I expect during the scan itself?

MRI scans typically run 20–45 minutes and require staying still throughout. Our wide bore scanner offers more room than traditional machines, and soft, flexible coils replace the heavier, rigid blankets used in older equipment. Built-in noise-reduction technology also softens the tapping and thumping sounds typically associated with MRI, and you can communicate with the technologist at any point.

How soon will my provider have my results?

Radiologists typically complete their review within 1–2 business days. Results go directly to your referring provider, and OrthoNY patients usually discuss findings at a follow-up visit.

Is imaging at the Saratoga location covered by insurance?

Most private insurance plans and Medicare are accepted. Our team verifies benefits and handles prior authorizations when needed, and billing estimates are available for self-pay or high-deductible patients.
