How long is the recovery process after spine treatment?

The majority of our lumbar microdiskectomy and laminectomy cases as well as cervical fusions are performed in our surgery centers as an outpatient discharging patient to the comfort of their own home on the same day as surgery. After minimally invasive lumbar spine fusion performed in the hospital patients are up and walking around that afternoon and will go home the same day or after just one night in the hospital. Full recovery can take several weeks to a few months, depending on the procedure.
