OrthoNY invites the community to a free seminar on shoulder pain and treatment, co-hosted by two shoulder and elbow specialists: Dr. Matthew LeVasseur, who joined the practice early last year, and Dr. Lee Kaback, a longtime member of the OrthoNY team. Together, they bring decades of combined experience and a shared credential that few surgeons hold. Fresh Expertise, World-Class Training
Dr. Matthew LeVasseur joined OrthoNY early last year, bringing fellowship training in the shoulder and elbow from Columbia University, home to the oldest and most prestigious shoulder and elbow fellowship in the world, founded by Dr. Charles S. Neer II. During his training, he cared for elite athletes including the New York Yankees. Dr. LeVasseur specializes in minimally invasive arthroscopic and open surgery, joint replacement, and rotator cuff repair, and has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed journal articles.
A Trusted Voice in Shoulder Care
Dr. Lee Kaback has treated patients across Albany, Delmar, and Clifton Park for years as a fellowship-trained shoulder and elbow surgeon. He completed his shoulder and elbow fellowship training at Brown University School of Medicine and brings more than two decades of experience treating rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, arthritis, and fractures. A sought-after national lecturer, he teaches other surgeons on the latest advances in shoulder replacement, including reverse shoulder replacement and bone-sparing techniques. He has also served as team physician for numerous collegiate and professional sports programs and is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
What to Expect
Attendees will hear directly from two surgeons who combine hands-on experience with continually evolving, cutting-edge training, from Dr. LeVasseur’s training at Columbia’s renowned shoulder and elbow fellowship to Dr. Kaback’s ongoing work teaching surgeons nationally on shoulder replacement techniques. The seminar will cover common causes of shoulder pain, nonsurgical and surgical treatment options, and the newest advances in shoulder care, with time for audience questions.
