About Dr. Johnson
Dr. Johnson is a board‑certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and the treatment of athletic injuries. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Nirschl Orthopedic Center for Sports Medicine & Joint Reconstruction in Arlington, Virginia, following his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Akron General Medical Center in Ohio.
Dr. Johnson joined OrthoNY in 2023 after more than a decade serving patients in the Glens Falls region. From 2012 to 2023, he practiced with North Country Sports Medicine/Orthopedic Specialists of Glens Falls Hospital, and in 2018 he was appointed Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Glens Falls Hospital—a role he continues to hold.
A longtime team physician, Dr. Johnson has provided orthopedic care for several regional and professional hockey organizations, including the Adirondack Thunder (ECHL), Adirondack Flames (AHL), and Adirondack Phantoms (AHL).
He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Albany Medical College in 2001 and his Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from Northwestern University in 1997. Dr. Johnson is board‑certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, with recertification completed in 2017, and holds active medical licensure in New York.
His professional memberships include the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the J. Robert Gladden Orthopedic Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
