The OrthoNY Clinical Team includes board-certified orthopedic surgeons, fellowship-trained subspecialists, sports medicine physicians, and licensed rehabilitation professionals. Together, they review and verify the medical accuracy of all educational materials published by OrthoNY. This ensures patients receive trustworthy, evidence-based guidance grounded in current orthopedic research and aligned with the highest standards of clinical care.

Albany, NY – OrthoNY continues to grow its team of orthopedic specialists with the arrival of Ivan Bandovic, DO, a fellowship-trained surgeon whose practice centers on hip and knee replacement, revision arthroplasty, fracture care, and general orthopedics. His addition deepens the bench strength behind the joint replacement program at OrthoNY.

Patients under Dr. Bandovic’s care benefit from a surgeon well-versed in both straightforward and complicated cases. He manages arthritis stemming from a range of causes, including osteoarthritis, avascular necrosis, and prior trauma, and performs both anterior and posterior approaches to hip arthroplasty, partial knee replacement, and robotic-assisted procedures. His practice also extends into more complex territory: revision surgery, periprosthetic fracture repair, and management of prosthetic joint infections.

Dr. Bandovic’s path to orthopedics began close to home. Raised in New York, he studied at Stony Brook University before pursuing his medical degree at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he earned a combined D.O./M.S. His surgical training took him to Henry Ford – Warren in Detroit for residency, followed by an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where he sharpened his focus on primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty under some of the field’s leading surgeons. He holds membership in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and continues to attend national conferences to keep pace with evolving surgical techniques.

His arrival gives patients across the Capital Region another experienced option for hip and knee care, with Dr. Bandovic seeing patients at the Albany, Delmar, Malta, and Schenectady offices of OrthoNY.
