About Dr. Taylor

Dr. Taylor is a dual fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in both foot & ankle orthopaedic surgery and Orthopaedic Trauma surgery. He has a particular interest in complex foot and ankle reconstruction including primary and revision total ankle arthroplasty, complex periarticular ankle fractures including pilon fractures, and flatfoot reconstruction. In addition he performs all elective and trauma procedures addressing ankle, hindfoot, midfoot and forefoot pathology.

Dr. Taylor completed his undergraduate degree (BSc with High Distinction) at the University of Toronto (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) with a double major in Human Biology and Psychology with a minor in Zoology. He then completed his medical degree (MD) at the University of Western Ontario (UWO) (London, Ontario, Canada). This was followed by a 5 year residency in Orthopaedic surgery at Queens University (Kingston, Ontario, Canada). Following his residency he completed a fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma surgery at UWO while also obtaining his Master’s Degree (MSc) followed by a second fellowship in Foot & Ankle surgery at Duke University in Durham North Carolina. Following his fellowship, Dr. Taylor practiced at the University of Arizona for 2 years and Prior to moving to New York to be closer to family, Dr. Taylor spent 5 years in Nashville, Tennessee in private practice treating foot and ankle disorders and covering the level 1 trauma center.

Dr. Taylor treats patients with a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Ankle fractures, pilon fractures, talus fractures, arthritis, deformities, painful or failed ankle replacements, and instability.
  • Heel pain, calcaneus fractures, subtalar joint arthritis, flatfoot disorders, cavovarus deformity, plantar fasciitis, and tarsal tunnel syndrome.
  • Midfoot and Lisfranc injuries, midfoot arthritis, and Charcot deformity.
  • Forefoot conditions such as bunions, Morton’s neuroma, and metatarsal and phalanx fractures.

Outside of caring for his patients, Dr. Taylor enjoys spending time with his wife, Taylor, their two children, and their dog, Hank.
