About Dr. Canfield
Dr. Canfield is an Orthopedic Adult Reconstruction Surgeon specializing in both primary and revision total hip and knee replacements. He performs general orthopedic trauma procedures as well. His areas of focus are direct anterior approach for total hip arthroplasty as well as robotic-assisted total and uni-compartmental knee arthroplasty with MAKO robotics. He has also completed additional fellowship training with heavy focus on revision arthroplasty of the hip and knee including treatment of complex infections.
Dr. Canfield grew up in Syracuse, NY. He graduated summa cum laude from SUNY Geneseo with a major in Biophysics. After spending two years doing research with a private biomedical start-up, he attended medical school at SUNY Upstate, graduating with honors. He then went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at UCONN. Prior to joining OrthoNY, he completed a one-year fellowship in Adult Reconstruction surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Florida with heavy focus on revision arthroplasty for treatment of failed primary replacements and infections.
