About Dr. Grossman
Dr. Alec Grossman is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery, with a particular focus on providing individualized care designed to help patients return to an active lifestyle. There is nothing more rewarding for him than seeing his post-op patients with smiles on their faces telling him about how they are finally able to enjoy their favorite activities again. Meeting his patients’ expectations is the ultimate goal.
Dr. Grossman completed his orthopedic surgery residency at LECOM Health in Erie, Pennsylvania, followed by his Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at Boston University Medical Center. He received advanced training in both routine and complex hip and knee reconstruction, including revision joint replacement and caring for patients with post-traumatic arthritis, periprosthetic joint infections, and periprosthetic fractures.
He performs total hip replacements through the direct anterior approach and utilizes robotic-assisted technology for total knee arthroplasty.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
Outside of work, Dr. Grossman enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis and golf, cooking, woodworking, and taking on DIY projects. Whether it involves non-operative treatment, joint replacement surgery, or fracture management, Dr. Grossman looks forward to taking care of the Capital Region’s orthopedic needs.
