About Melissa
Melissa is a native of the Capital District. She received her Bachelor of Science from Russell Sage College in 1995 majoring in Athletic Training. She completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the New Hampshire Musculoskeletal Institute in 1997. She worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer for 5 years and remains a Board Certified Athletic Trainer by the BOC.
In August 2002 she graduated from the Albany Medical College-Hudson Valley Physician Assistant Program. She has been board certified by NCCPA since 2002. Melissa worked for two years as a Cardiothoracic Surgery PA at Albany Medical Center. In 2004 she joined Schenectady Regional Orthopedics as an Orthopedic Physician Assistant working there for over ten years before joining the OrthoNY Team in 2014.
Melissa works with Dr. Eric Aronowitz in both the office and the operating room treating sports medicine patients. She also assists Dr. Aronowitz in providing sports medicine coverage for Union College Athletics, local area high schools, and sports organizations.
