One of the best urgent medical assistance I’ve ever experienced. The staff was extremely helpful and supportive. When I entered the building I was in so much pain. The lady at the front desk was very helpful, ensuring that another lovely team member accompanied me to the area where I was registered, hand held and all, and with all the emotional support a patient in pain would appreciate. The receptionist who got me registered was equally as sweet. Shortly after which the doctor came out to receive me. I was seen by the doctor before I could finish all my paperwork. I could not have asked for a better service and as urgently as I got at OrthoNY. When I say my entire visit was exceptional. At no point throughout my entire visit did I have any negative encounters. Thanks to you Dr. Suslak and your team for such exceptional service. I truly appreciate you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of orthopedic surgeries does OrthNY perform at Everett Rd?

We perform a range of outpatient procedures at the Everett Road Surgery Center, including joint arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction, carpal tunnel release, spinal surgeries such as decompression and Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (TLIF) using navigation technology, foot and ankle procedures, and ENT surgeries such as tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, and sinus surgery. Our surgeons are board-certified and fellowship-trained, and focus on advanced methods that reduce pain, shorten recovery, and allow for same-day discharge. We review every case to determine suitability for outpatient care based on safety and patient history.

Is surgery at Everett Road safe and accredited?

Yes. The Everett Road Surgery Center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), ensuring our protocols, staff training, and surgical safety standards meet the highest level of care. From sterile procedures to anesthesia safety, our team is equipped to manage outpatient surgery efficiently. We monitor patients in private recovery bays and discharge them only once they meet clinical benchmarks. We built the facility specifically for orthopedic procedures with input from our surgical experts at OrthoNY.

Who qualifies for outpatient surgery at this location?

Patients who are medically stable and do not require overnight monitoring are typically eligible for outpatient surgery. Our team reviews each patient’s medical history, medication list, and support system at home to determine eligibility. Patients with well-controlled health conditions and a reliable recovery environment are strong candidates. Each OrthoNY care team guides their patients through the eligibility and pre-op clearance process to ensure the safest path forward.

What happens before, during, and after surgery?

Before surgery, patients meet with an OrthoNY provider and complete pre-op instructions, including fasting and medication guidelines. On the day of surgery, they check in, and the clinical team prepares them for surgery. Our surgical team then takes over, using a state-of-the-art OR, and transferring patients to private recovery bays afterward for monitored recovery. After they are stable and alert, patients receive written post-operative discharge instructions and a follow-up schedule. Many orthopedic patients begin therapy within days, while ENT patients receive customized follow-up instructions and care from Albany ENT specialists.

Is a referral or prior authorization required?

Yes. Most procedures require a referral to one of our orthopedic specialists. Some insurance may also require prior authorization. Our administrative team verifies insurance coverage, submits documentation, and handles communication with providers. This ensures that each patient receives approval and financial clearance before the surgery date. We help simplify the process so our patients can focus on recovery.

Is my surgery covered by insurance?

Most major insurance plans, including Medicare and workers’ compensation, cover outpatient orthopedic surgery with OrthoNY. Your coverage depends on your plan’s benefits, copays, deductibles, and pre-authorization requirements. Before any procedure, our billing specialists will confirm insurance benefits and provide a cost estimate. For patients without insurance or high-deductible plans, we offer payment plan options to help manage care expenses.
