Imran Akhtar

Dr. Imran Akhtar grew up in Brooklyn, New York and attended   Emory University in Atlanta where he double majored in Neuroscience and Economics. He went to medical school at Nova Southeastern University. He started his Orthopaedic Surgery residency in 2015 at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences. During his residency training, he developed a special interest in total hip and knee replacements. He further refined his skills in this area by completing a Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the Desert Orthopaedic Center in Las Vegas, NV in 2020.

Dr Akhtar specializes in Minimally Invasive surgery (MIS) including hip replacements, this reduces surgical scar and expedites postoperative recovery. 

He also has interests in unicompartmental knee arthroplasty and computer navigated knee replacements including the VELYS and ROSA robotic assited knee replacement, CONFORMIS custom knee replacement implants and complex reconstructive procedures. 

 

Dr Akhtar is a member of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and American Osteopathic Association.
