Dr. Ansari received his medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine before completing an Internal Medicine internship at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York. He completed his residency training in Anesthesiology at New York University School of Medicine and his fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management at Mount Sinai Beth Israel.

As a member of the spine service, Dr. Ansari primarily sees patients with painful conditions relating to the spine, including spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, arthritis (of the neck, back or pelvis), herniated discs, sciatica, pinched nerves, occipital headaches and persistent pain after spine surgery. His treatment philosophy centers around a progressive rehabilitation model to decrease pain, restore function and improve quality of life for patients suffering from spine-related pathology or painful neuropathies. He has a narcotic-free practice with an emphasis on physical therapy, adjuvant medications and interventional procedures targeted to the source of pain to provide goal-directed functional restoration. He collaborates with local physical therapists, occupational therapists and chiropractors, as well as his surgical partners to help patients successfully make progress over the treatment period.

Dr. Ansari’s areas of expertise include spinal cord stimulation, radiofrequency ablation, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) and image-guided minimally invasive procedures for the non-surgical management of neck, mid-back and low back pain.

He performs his interventional pain procedures at our Albany, Clifton Park and Schenectady offices. He also performs advanced procedures requiring monitored anesthesia care at the Executive Woods Ambulatory Surgery Center.
