Dr. Dan Polishchuk did his fellowship training in hip and knee replacement at Columbia University Medical Center (New York, NY). During his fellowship, he trained with world renowned orthopedic surgeons from Hospital of Special Surgery as well as Massachusetts General Hospital in partial, full and revision hip and knee replacement surgery, including computer navigation and robotic hip and knee replacements. He currently uses two robotic knee and hip replacement systems – MAKO and ROSA.

Dr. Polishchuk’s training included multiple approaches to the hip, including the popular anterior approach to the hip. His preferred approach to the hip is posterior. He uses the latest minimally invasive techniques in both hip and knee replacement as well as the latest pain management techniques to make post-operative recovery fast and less painful. This allows his hip and knee replacement patients to go home same-day of surgery, avoiding hospitalization. Selection process for this program is rigorous, but those who are recommended to this accelerated discharge program are some of the happiest patients after their joint replacement surgery.

Dr. Polishchuk has numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his research at national orthopedic meetings. He does local community outreach through “ask-the-doc” newspaper column and he also holds several free community seminars per year on hip and knee replacement options.

Dr. Polishchuk believes in a conservative approach to hip and knee problems, with surgery as the last resort, and will work with his patients to come up with individualized plans of treatment, including both non-operative as well as operative management.

Dr. Polishchuk does surgery at Ellis Hospital, Saratoga Hospital and our own outpatient ambulatory surgery center, OrthoNY Surgical Suites.
