OrthoNY Welcomes New Chief Operating Officer

Nursing leader will provide administrative oversight for daily patient care

(ALBANY, NY) – OrthoNY has hired Mary Hannan, MS, RN, as Chief Operating Officer. She will work in both the Albany and Saratoga regions to oversee day-to-day functions for the practice’s eight locations.

Prior to joining OrthoNY, Hannan worked at Albany Memorial Hospital for 13 years, most recently in the Chief Nursing Officer position. In that role, she directed all aspects of nursing practice and fostered strong partnerships with physicians and support departments to encourage collaboration, team development and quality patient care.

Hannan began her nursing career at Albany Medical Center. During her 25-year tenure there, she gained experience in the oncology, coronary care and adult critical care units before being promoted to supervisory positions in adult surgical and cardio-thoracic surgery. Hannan then spent 17 years as Nurse Manager for Trauma/General Surgery and Patient Triage Manager.

Hannan is an AONE Board Certified Nurse Executive. In 2004, she earned a Masters in Health Administration from St. Joseph’s College in Standish, Maine. Hannan also holds a diploma from Samaritan School of Nursing in Troy and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from SUNY Utica/Rome.
