Tournament brings patients together to celebrate joint replacement success
(SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY) – OrthoNY will host the 13th Annual “Best Foot Forward” Golf Invitational next Wednesday, September 25, at Brookhaven Golf Course in Porters Corners. More than 100 golfers, all practice patients, are registered.
The unique tournament is free for invited golfers and celebrates their successful recovery from joint replacement surgery. Festivities kick off with lunch at noon, followed by nine holes of golf, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Prizes will be awarded to the winners, and for the longest drive and closest-to-the-pin. Golfers will also have the chance to shoot for a $10,000 hole-in-one.
“We started the ‘Best Foot Forward’ with just 27 golfers in 2001,” states Regina Colaes, COO, Saratoga Region. “Not only has it grown with the number of joint replacements we see, it has become a popular event because of the camaraderie. Complete strangers, with seemingly nothing in common other than a joint replacement, have become good friends because of this tournament, and beyond it.”
