OrthoNY Announces New President

Dr. George Silver, Jr., elected to lead medical practice

(ALBANY, NY) – The physician leadership of OrthoNY has elected George E. Silver, Jr., MD, president of its medical practice. Dr. Silver’s three-year term officially began on January 1, 2019. He succeeds Dr. Leonard Goldstock, who served as president of OrthoNY since its formation on January 1, 2013, and for one year prior to that as president of the former Northeast Orthopaedics.

Dr. Silver is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and specializes in injuries and arthritic conditions of the shoulder and knee, including arthroscopic soft tissue reconstruction and partial and total joint replacement. He is one of the founding members of OrthoNY, formed by the merger of Northeast Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic Associates of Saratoga in 2013, and sees patients in practice’s Saratoga office.

“I am happy to pass the presidency to George Silver,” remarked Leonard Goldstock, MD. “As one of our Saratoga physicians, he offers a unique perspective that will ultimately benefit all OrthoNY patients. Dr. Silver’s leadership will ideally complement the contributions, expertise and geographic representation of our other board members.”

CEO Julie Shaw added, “We are excited for his presidency. Dr. Silver has already demonstrated his tireless commitment to Saving Lifestyles by leading the development of OrthoNY’s ambulatory surgery center in Clifton Park, a new facility enhancing our ability to provide high quality, conveniently accessible care for our patients.”
