David Dixon, MD, Foot and Ankle specialist with OrthoNY, has passed his Orthopaedic Board Recertification, now valid until 2024. The rigorous recertification process called the MOC or Maintenance of Certification is made up of four components:

  1. Evidence of Professional Standing which will be assessed with periods of peer review, confirmation of full and unrestricted licensure and hospital credentials.
  2. Evidence of Life Long Learning and Self Assessment which will be assessed by two 3-year cycles of 120 credits of Category 1 CMEs that include a minimum of 20 CME credits for self assessment examinations (SAE).
  3. 3. Evidence of Cognitive Expertise which will be assessed by the same secure recertification examination pathways currently in place and required at 10-year intervals.
  4. Evidence of Performance in Practice which will be assessed by a quality improvement model and include a stringent peer review process.

Congratulations Dr. Dixon!
